With only 10 days until Christmas I thought it would be appropriate to share my favorite holiday related articles, podcasts, and lists. Every year I look forward to the holiday related posts that make their way into my twitter feed. I always find a few new things that add to my enjoyment of the season, but I also have several old favorites I bookmark to make sure I remember. Here are the links that have come to be my Holiday Survival Guide:
I’ve enjoyed every Happier Podcast holiday related episode, but their holiday try this at home episode is my absolute favorite.
Speaking of Gretchen Rubin (when am I not…), her list of ways to cope with difficult people during the holidays is EXTREMELY helpful. Remember, we can’t change how someone else behaves but we can change how we react.
Kendra, The Lazy Genius, introduced me to the idea of holiday opening and closing ceremonies. Brilliant. I admit this year my opening ceremony took place mostly in my head, but I can see how it would be super fun to actually do something to make the start of the holiday season.
A blog post from HelloFresh about conquering cooking fears is a huge help for anyone who is hosting a meal over the holidays. I read this several times before we cooked the Thanksgiving meal for the first time this year, and I appreciated the reminder to not get too fancy, and to ask for help if we need it. Another helpful reminder? If everything is a complete fail, you can always just order pizza.
The exceptional Anne from Modern Mrs. Darcy impresses me every year with her Christmas posts. She has the best stocking stuffer ideas, great gift lists for book lovers, helpful Christmas movie lists, and a trove of other fun ideas. This year she linked everything up in a wonderful Christmas Gallery post. Thanks, Anne! I love it. If you haven’t already, check it out.
Happy Friday! I hope you have a cozy weekend.
