How did autumn get away from us so quickly? I can’t believe it’s December and winter is - dare I say it? - kind of here. Later this weekend I’ll share what I learned this fall and what the Introvert’s Book Club read at my place in November, but today I want to share my favorites from this week.
Your dog might help you live longer - I consider my dog an important member of our family. When my husband first got a job that required long overnight shifts, I was so lonely. When we got Harv, I instantly felt like myself again. He’s a wonderful companion and I believe this article is true - my sweet puppy keeps me healthier. Thanks, Harv!
As I plan for how my schedule will work for the first few months of 2018, I realize if I want to make the best use of my time I’m going to need to get up much earlier than I do now. With this in mind, I was very interested to read this blog post from Day Designer about what happy people do in the morning, and this article from The Muse about the joys of waking up at 5 AM. Basically, waking up super early frees up time in the day for tasks and activities we want to do but often get distracted from during the busyness of the day. It all sounds great, but I think it might be a bit trickier in practice. I’ll report back if I ever successfully wake up at 5 AM for more than a few days.
A friend and I went to Plant Nite this week, and it was one of the most fun activities I’ve ever done! You know I love succulents, so a night devoted to learning about the plants, planting, and decorating a terrarium was perfect. We had so much fun! It was similar to those painting classes that have become popular, but much less stressful! I highly recommend getting your friends together for a night of drinks and succulents.
This week I discovered the beautiful Instagram account I Have This Thing With Floors. I love the tiles, colors, and patterns.
What a great last week of fall. Welcome to December!
